Impressive, isn’t it? She was forgiven many, many sins, and so she is very, very grateful. If the forgiveness is minimal, the gratitude is minimal.

Luke 7:47 (The Message)

Therefore, I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven—for she loved much. But he who has been forgiven little loves little.

Luke 7:47 (New International Version)

I tell you, her sins—and they are many—have been forgiven, so she has shown me much love. But a person who is forgiven little shows only little love.

Luke 7:47 (New Living Translation)

Smart people know how to hold their tongue;
their grandeur is to forgive and forget.

A man’s wisdom gives him patience;
it is to his glory to overlook an offense.

Proverbs 19:11 (New International Version)

Sensible people control their temper;
they earn respect by overlooking wrongs.
