Grace
|
God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.
Ephesians 2:8-9 (New Living Translation)
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.
Ephesians 2:8-9 (New International Version)
God does both the making and saving. He creates each of us by Christ Jesus to join him in the work he does, the good work he has gotten ready for us to do, work we had better be doing.
Ephesians 2:8-9 (The Message)
Grace – 2 Corinthians 8:9
|
You know the generous grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor,
so that by his poverty he could make you rich.
2 Corinthians 8:9 (New Living Translation)
For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich.
2 Corinthians 8:9 (New International Version)
You are familiar with the generosity of our Master, Jesus Christ.
Rich as he was, he gave it all away for us—in one stroke he
became poor and we became rich.
2 Corinthians 8:9 (The Message)
This world has been visited by the Majesty of heaven,
the Son of God. Christ came to this world as the expression
of the very heart and mind and nature and character of God.
