And “don’t sin by letting anger control you.” Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry, for anger gives a foothold to the devil.

Ephesians 4:26-27 (New Living Translation)

In your anger do not sin” Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, 27and do not give the devil a foothold.

Ephesians 4:26-27 (New International Version)

Go ahead and be angry. You do well to be angry—but don’t use your anger as fuel for revenge. And don’t stay angry. Don’t go to bed angry. Don’t give the Devil that kind of foothold in your life.

Ephesians 4:26-27 (The Message)

Don’t sin by letting anger control you.
Think about it overnight and remain silent.

Psalm 4:4 (New Living Translation)

In your anger do not sin;
when you are on your beds,
search your hearts and be silent.

Psalm 4:4 (New International Version)

Complain if you must, but don’t lash out.
Keep your mouth shut, and let your heart do the talking.

Psalm 4:4 (The Message)

Letting anger grow in your life can cause you to become a slave to it. Do what it takes to get the help you need to overcome it and don’t let it be your master in your life!
