Wealth
|
Those who love money will never have enough. How meaningless to think that wealth brings true happiness! The more you have, the more people come to help you spend it. So what good is wealth—except perhaps to watch it slip through your fingers!
Ecclesiastes 5:10-11 (New Living Translation)
Whoever loves money never has money enough;
whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with his income.
This too is meaningless.
As goods increase,
so do those who consume them.
And what benefit are they to the owner
except to feast his eyes on them?
Ecclesiastes 5:10-11 (New International Version)
The one who loves money is never satisfied with money,
Nor the one who loves wealth with big profits. More smoke.
The more loot you get, the more looters show up.
And what fun is that—to be robbed in broad daylight?
Ecclesiastes 5:10-11 (The Message)

This scripture is so true! Even the poor can love money more than God. The love of money is idolatry. Anything that takes precedence over Jesus Christ is sin and man must repent of it. It also reveals a lack of trust in God even though He is the source of all money. We must turn our eyes upon Jesus and allow Him to bless us instead of looking to money for only the peace and prosperity that God can provide.
Recently my husband and I were gifted a beautiful silver van. We had been praying for a vehicle however we did not have the finances. We simply trusted God and He met our need. My husband and I have faced some difficult times in our faith walk. This is due to our waivering faith. However we can testify that God has always been faithful.
