How Self-Esteem Affects Our Confidence Self-belief gives us the confidence to accept failure. It teaches us the importance of positive thinking. Those who have self-esteem don’t talk about failures; instead, they try to find out why they did not succeed.

That is how I see it James. We need to try and take a look at our life from a wider point of view. Possessions and accomplishments here are just fleeting and we can't take them with us. We need to strive for a close walk with our God and maker and look forward to the day that we can be with him.

This verse just pointed me in the direction I need this morning and I hoped it might help a few others as well.

I don't quite understand what this scripture means for us. Is it an example of how we should not depend only on our earthly accomplishments and possessions?
