Peace
|
I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.
John 14:27 (New Living Translation)
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
John 14:27 (New International Version)
That’s my parting gift to you. Peace. I don’t leave you the way you’re used to being left—feeling abandoned, bereft. So don’t be upset. Don’t be distraught.
John 14:27 (The Message)
perfect sense, but remember, sense is not very common.
Great website, I love the look of your blog. Any ideas you have to improve my site?
This verse really got to me the other day (by that I mean wrote the verse on my hand and wrote it down in my journal). A rare occurrence, especially since I was at work - the book of John really makes Jesus feel right here with me sometimes, I can only pray it does the same for you all.
I really like this verse in the amplied (See below)
It really breaks it down barney style and help to keep your mind right with God’s peace and not the World’s Peace.
27Peace I leave with you; My [own] peace I now give and bequeath to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. [Stop allowing yourselves to be agitated and disturbed; and do not permit yourselves to be fearful and intimidated and cowardly and unsettled.]
