Our God

For the Lord is the one who shaped the mountains,
stirs up the winds, and reveals his thoughts to mankind.
He turns the light of dawn into darkness
and treads on the heights of the earth.
The Lord God of Heaven’s Armies is his name!
Amos 4:13 (New Living Translation)
He who forms the mountains,
creates the wind,
and reveals his thoughts to man,
he who turns dawn to darkness,
and treads the high places of the earth—
the LORD God Almighty is his name.
Amos 4:13 (New International Version)
Look who’s here: Mountain-Shaper! Wind-Maker!
He laid out the whole plot before Adam.
He brings everything out of nothing,
like dawn out of darkness.
He strides across the alpine ridges.
His name is God, God-of-the-Angel-Armies.
Amos 4:13 (The Message)

Whenever I look at a scripture, I try to think about why God preserved that message for me and how I can apply it to my life. This is not always an easy task, and I feel this scripture isn’t easy to find a way to apply it to my life. The questions that I have from this verse (and maybe that is the reason it is there) are:
How can I get God to reveal his thoughts to me?
What can I learn from what he created about myself?
These may not be answerable with this scripture, but I bet there are other scriptures that might answer these questions.
