Live in harmony with each other. Don’t be too proud to enjoy the company of ordinary people. And don’t think you know it all!

Romans 12:16 (New Living Translation)

Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited.

Romans 12:16 (New International Version)

Get along with each other; don’t be stuck-up. Make friends with nobodies; don’t be the great somebody.

Romans 12:16 (The Message)

One Response to “Humility”

  1. This passage said much to me. It once was my belief that we met the “best of humans in our churches.” I no longer feel this way. In fact because of a three year negative relationship with a Presbyterian Pastor in a small community church in East Texas, I need feel churches are mainly designed for the care of self centered ministers and pastors. In recentl times I have discovered the greatest love of my Lord in the every day people that meet in my life. It is just a matter of “a little risk taking” in meeting people each day, and reaching out to them. The blessings I have received in further discovering the love of my Lord has exceeded any gift that I have ever received in my sixty plus years of church life. Those experiences, plus sites such as this, that share part of our Lord’s wisdom each day, are the treads that bind us even closer of our God. If you are blessed with gifts beyond your immediate needs, give and reach out to others each day of your life. In so doing, you will find, as I have, the true wonderful connection we have with our creator.
