Humility and Gentleness

Published by Kent at 9:59 pm under Scripture

Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love.

Ephesians 4:2 (New Living Translation)

I want you to get out there and walk—better yet, run!—on the road God called you to travel. I don’t want any of you sitting around on your hands. I don’t want anyone strolling off, down some path that goes nowhere. And mark that you do this with humility and discipline—not in fits and starts, but steadily, pouring yourselves out for each other in acts of love, alert at noticing differences and quick at mending fences.

Ephesians 4:1-3 (The Message)

Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.

Ephesians 4:2 (New International Version)

Wow! Be patient and humble to our friends who fail and fall. It’s very hard to do this, so much easier for us to be critical and put them down, not to show them love and support. I want to challenge you to make a special effort today to be aware of this and go out of your way to be patient with those around you.

The Lord was just dealing with me regarding love the other day. It is pleasing to our Father to show love to our bretheren as He does us.

Love covers a multitude of sins, and we should be thankful for the blessing that people are toward us, as oppose to focusing on their shortcomings.

I will pray that the Lord will strengthen me to glorify Him in this area. I need it!
