I think this passage reminds us all that wealth is not always a sign of God's blessing. I find myself disturbed at the amount of poor people in the developing world who seem to by drawn to the misguided teaching of the prosperity preachers. Some of the most Godly people I have met in my life have been people who own very little material possesions but have a great understanding of Kingdom values.
